Protestors cause Golden Gate Bridge to shut down
On Monday morning, protestors in California caused some major delays. The group of protestors blocked two highways, with one being the 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge. The other one was parts of Interstate 880 in Oakland.
The California Highway Patrol spoke with the media and said they did not know when exactly the Golden Gate Bridge would reopen to commuters. It appears that the Golden Gate Protests started at around 8AM.
Golden Gate Protests: What Is It About
Apparently the protests are part of ‘A15 Action’. The action involves protestors standing in solidarity with Palestine; And the protests take place across dozens of cities around the globe.
Footage released by the media showed protestors holding a banner that displayed the following words “ Stop The World For Gaza”.
Has Anybody Been Arrested
Around 10:30AM, a few media outlets released videos. In some of the videos, protestors were being seen being detained. However, at that time, the Golden Gate Bridge was still closed off to traffic.
