Poem: In Delft, Netherlands
A short poem about Delft
I love the Netherlands. In my opinion, it’s one of the best countries in the world. And there are so many cities and towns that I adore in the Netherlands.
Delft is one of those places that I have fallen in love with. And with that said, below is a short poem I have dedicated to Delft.
Note: If you ever get the chance to travel to Delft, or the Netherlands in general, then do it! I am confident you will not regret it.
In Delft: A Poem About Delft
In Delft, the streets are narrow ribbons of stone,
lined with houses leaning as if whispering secrets
to the canals that hold the sky in their stillness.
Morning light drapes itself over blue-tiled walls,
each fragment a memory, each glaze a reflection
of centuries kept intact, waiting for new stories.
You stepped into that mosaic of a city
as if you belonged to its centuries already,
a figure walking across bridges arched like questions
that begged for answers only our eyes could provide.
Cyclists passed in a blur of bells and laughter,
yet in that rush, time slowed…
