Survival Mode: The Essential Items I’d Use If I Became Homeless
These are the items I’d have on hand
Life has a way of throwing curveballs, and while no one ever plans to end up homeless, it can happen.
If I were to find myself without a permanent roof over my head, I’d want to be as prepared as possible. Surviving on the streets — or in the wilderness — requires careful planning and a strong mindset.
Some people might think cash or a phone would be the top priority, but in reality, the right survival gear makes all the difference.
Here’s what I’d pack to stay as safe, warm, and functional as possible in a worst-case scenario.
1. Personal Items and First Aid: Keeping Myself in One Piece
When living without stable shelter, small health issues can quickly turn into major problems. A solid first aid kit would be non-negotiable.
At a minimum, I’d carry:
Bandages, antiseptic wipes, and antibiotic ointment to prevent infections.
Painkillers for headaches, injuries, or fever.
Tweezers for splinters and ticks.
A basic multi-tool for cutting, opening cans, or even self-defense.
