Tragic Explosion Of Chocolate Factory in Pennsylvania Leaves Several Dead
On Friday, an explosion occurred at a chocolate factory in West Reading, Pennsylvania. The incident has left four people dead. There’s also several people who suffered injuries, and there are four others missing.
Officials on Saturday held a press briefing. They said that they did find one person alive overnight. The person was found amongst the rubble.
The West Reading Borough fire chief said the chances of finding anymore survivors were declining. This is because of how much time has passed, as well as the severity of the explosion. The chief added that their main goal is to account for all missing individuals.
The Affected Factory
The factory where the explosion occurred is R.M. Palmer. Seasonal chocolates are manufactured there. This includes chocolate for Halloween, Easter and Christmas. Around 800 people work in the factory, which has been in West Reading for over 50 years. R.M. Palmer is known for always being an upstanding member of West Reading, according to a West Reading Borough Council member.
What Caused The Explosion
At the time of this writing, it’s not known what caused the explosion. However, an investigation has been launched, and all possible causes will be looked into.
